Photographer Jasmin Schuller dreamed up this lovely little photography series called ‘Sweet Meat’ which got us thinking…although a generous scoop of mince meat atop a crispy waffle cone seems wrong at first, there are many right things about it. Such sweet opposition is trending hard ..there’s Pork floss, bacon candy w/ ice-cream and, our most recent discovery, the delicious Moroccan speciality that treads the line so finely.. Pigeon Pastilla. Recipe coming soon!
In the meantime, here’s a Bacon Granola recipe … thanks for the inspiration Jasmin!
- 6 rashes of smoked streaky bacon
- 40g butter
- 100g rolled oats or Quiona
- 50g flaked almonds
- 2 tablespoon flax seeds
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- 4 tablespoon crème fraîche (or natural yogurt)
Cut the bacon in lardons (small chunks) and fry. Drain on a paper towel. In a pan, melt the butter then add the oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds & cranberries. Stir continuously (to prevent burning) until oats are golden brown. Remove from heat and place in a bowl, top with bacon bits and crème fraîche.
